I have Arma 2 on capsule and i've purchased operation arrowhead from another distributer. They worked fine until the new patch was released. Now i cannot start operation arrowhead because i get this error 'Cannot open file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CapsuleGames\ARMA II - PC\\dta\bin.pbo'
I believe it is a registry issue due to the double \\ after PC. However i dont know how to edit registry so im helpless. Please resolve this GMG team!

It's a bit odd - I thought ARMA II from GMG didn't create any registry entries. Anyway - have You tried searching your Windows registry for that path? To do that start "regedit.exe" (either via the "Run..." command or by typing it into the search bar in Windows Start Menu) and press Ctrl+F (Edit -> Find). Then search for "ARMA II - PC" (F3 continues searching for another entry). If You find a value You need (It will probably be labeled as "InstallPath" or something similar), just double-click on it and add the missing "\" (or remove the extra one). Be careful however not to edit any other non-ARMA related entries, as messing with the registry can be a bit dangerous.

Just tried that but i cannot find the correct registry. There were a number of ARMA II registry's but none that corresponded with the \\ i was looking for.

For now I backed up the patched A2 files and reinstalled OA as standalone. Apply the patch, then copied the A2 files into the OA directory. So far it works.

I also have the same problem, Phil did you have the combined arms.exe after you copied A2 to OA folder?

EDIT: I actually made a new folder, for example Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead and just moved all the files from \CapsuleGames\Arma II - PC to there. No error when starting up with combined arms.exe or with Arma2OA.exe

I have found what causes the issues with Operation Arrowhead in the latest official patch (1.60), it changes the registry entries for Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead's path to have a \ at the end which messes up OA's path, it took me a long time to figure out as i fixed OA but it still complained until I fixed Arma 2 as well.

Here are the keys you must edit AFTER installing the patch:

Windows 32-bit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA

Windows 64-bit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA

In these there is a string called MAIN, edit each value so that it no longer has the \ at the end.

After this the game should start correctly and in the case of Operation Arrowhead, as Combined Operations.
